Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down their shop,
Went straight round the corner and never came back…
Maar eerst een duister gerecht van Marieke. Black poached eggs.

PRESSED RAT AND WARTHOG
Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down
their shop.
They didn't want to, 'twas all they had got.
Selling atonal apples, amplified heat,
And Pressed Rat's collection of dog legs and feet.
Sadly they left, telling no one goodbye.
Pressed Rat wore red jodhpurs, Warthog a striped tie.
Between them they carried a three-legged sack,
Went straight round the corner and never came back.
Pressed rat and warthog have closed down their shop
To me, this is about a communist state. Ginger Baker said after playing this at the Royal Albert Hall in 2005: "It's too late for a part political broadcast". Why I think it's about communism is this: In a communist state, people do not have personal property. Now it happened that Pressed Rat and Warthog have closed down there shop, even though they didn't want to. Because it was all that they'd got. Then why did they close it? Because The Bad Captain Madman (ie. dicator-like figure) had told them to stop (stop the bussines/shop. ie. close the shop).
What did they sell in the shop? Atonal apples, amplified heat and dog legs and feet.
Stuff that's quite useless/rubbish. A communist state didn't have luxery goods and had bad quality goods. So they went round the corner and never came back, meaning they emerged with the communist state. (A communist state is a state in which the individual is completely inferior to the state) Just my 2 cents :-)

The bad captain madman had ordered their fate.
He laughed and stomped off with a nautical gate.
The gate turned into a deroga tree,
And his peg-leg got woodworm and broke into three.

waarin we woonden
in de kelder kustte ik haar
op zolder nam ik haar
daar stroomt de rivier
zij zwom niet weg maar dreef
omwikkeld door waterplanten
en zwaaide naar mij
zoals een rivier sediment meevoert,
zo verzamelt het hart het slib
van oude hartstocht
en draagt het mee
naar een zee
die nooit vergetelheid gunt
